The Superb Student Program (SSP), Outreach Community Center in Carol Stream‘s after-school junior high program, is having a blast this fall! In October, the group made piñatas and had a party to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. They also went apple picking on Columbus Day.

The program, which combines homework completion, recreation and life skills activities, is designed to strengthen academic performance, self-esteem and character. Optional Christian education is offered.

The program is in need of academic mentors to tutor in the after school program. Tutors are asked to commit to one hour per week, Monday – Thursday, providing homework assistance to middle school youth. Sign up to volunteer today!
