Matches from the Warrenville Youth & Family Services Link Mentoring program recently took archery lessons at Blackwell Forest Preserve. Leslee Cremer, Youth Prevention Specialist, says the kids and volunteers had a lot of fun learning together. “I think it’s a really special activity that allows the mentors to learn right along with the kids,” she says. “Archery puts them on a level playing field where everyone is a learner.” The activity also reinforced listening, learning and respecting teachers.
