Department:  Outreach Community Center in Carol Stream

The Outreach Community Center in Carol Stream is a multi-purpose, neighborhood resource center serving a low-income, ethnically diverse neighborhood. Services include casework, mentoring, community development, support services for older adults, and after-school programs for children and youth.

Job Responsibilities

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for assisting the Facility Manager in the completion of facility maintenance and repairs and general facility operations for The Outreach Community Center in Carol Stream. Duties also include working with volunteers to guide their contributions, and light maintenance of agency-owned vehicles at this site.

Requirements

This position requires at least four years of experience in carpentry, painting, electrical, and/or mechanical repairs and basic training in janitorial duties. Previous facility management experience preferred. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel) and strong organizational skills required. Previous experience working with volunteers preferred. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. A commitment to Outreach Community Ministries’ Statement of Mission and Faith is required.

Status

This is a part-time position at 15 hours per week that reports to the Facility Manager. Primarily daytime hours, with occasional evening and week-end work related to tenant relations and special events.

Compensation

Part -time pay for this position falls between $12.50 and $14.42 based on education, skills and experience.
