For the first time, the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day community celebration invited local classrooms and youth groups to submit a creative expression of this year’s theme, “A Beloved Community,” through a video, essay, artwork or photography project. The OCC Villagebrook students produced the winning entry, the video below. Runners up were Nell Petersen of Cloverdale School, who created a poster, and Julie Wesolowski’s 6th Grade L.A. Class at Monroe Middle School, who memorized the “I Have a Dream” speech.
