Outreach Community Center at Villagebrook Apartments

The Outreach Community Center in Carol Stream partners with Villagebrook Apartments to provide educational and social service support for its residents. The Outreach Community Center in Carol Stream is responsible for the coordination of services at this site. The Outreach Community Center in Carol Stream is a multi-purpose, neighborhood resource center serving a low-income, ethnically diverse neighborhood.

Responsibilities

The Program Coordinator will ensure effective coordination of all services offered by Outreach at Villagebrook Apartments and carry responsibility for program management and administration; community relations; serving as liaison to Villagebrook apartments and the direct provision of the following services:

  • Adult Outreach Services (including but not limited to: employment assistance, computer tutoring, GED tutoring, language service referral)
  • Parent Council Facilitation
  • Teen Council Facilitation
  • Community Event Support

The Program Coordinator supervises 1 staff position, interns and volunteers and reports to the Executive Director of the Outreach Community Center in Carol Stream.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in social work, education or related field; at least five years of direct service experience preferred; at least one year of administrative experience; demonstrated ability in the areas of staff management and program administration, self-starter able to motivate and lead both adults and students in further program growth; demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of individuals from low-income and culturally-diverse backgrounds.  A current, valid driver’s license is required along with a good driving record.  A commitment to Outreach Community Ministries’ Statement of Christian Mission and Faith is also required.

Status

Full-time, Monday – Friday.  Academic year hours fall between 10 am – 6:30 pm.  Summer hours shift to 8 am – 4 pm. Some evening and week-end hours for special meetings or events.

Salary Range

Salary for the position falls between $36,000-$42,000 based on education, skills, and experience.
