With more than 400 requests for services each year, transitional housing through Outreach Community Ministries remains a critical service for young adults and families in DuPage County. Our Transitional Housing staff work with young adult women and single mothers over a period of up to two years to assist the women in transitioning to stable, independent living. Currently, we are able to offer two unique options:

Both facilities feature residential staff, who provide a healthy role model for family life and spiritual guidance. All residents work with a Case Manager to achieve specific, personal goals to grow life skills and transition successfully to independent living. This program is managed through Wheaton Youth Outreach (WYO).

Foster Parent Recruitment

Private foster care parents serve in two capacities at WYO. The first capacity provides for emergency or sshort-termcare for an at-risk teen ages 11-17 who has been abruptly displaced from the home. The second capacity provides longer term housing for youth entering the Transitions Program. Families who are interested in serving as foster parents are encouraged to call the staff at WYO for a consultation.
